The Lite Stuff

I have been drawing cartoons for many years. The title of my cartoon panels is THE

LITE STUFF. The premise of my cartoons is that America has a predominantly

commercial culture.  My cartoons fit right into this culture.  I use the methods of

commercial advertising to look at everyday objects (stuff) and events from a humorous

(lite) perspective. The humor often comes from the interplay between word and object.

So here goes.

Dec. 24: Sort of cartoonish.

The “Clothes Tree” is an alternative Christmas tree made of recycled clothes hangers. The Wall Street Journal featured it in an article (Dec. 10) on alternative trees. Professional photographer Philip Dattilo took the striking photo.

The “proof for Santa’s

existence” first appeared in School-craft College’s math publication THE RIGHT ANGLE.

Dec. 30: I like to think of the first ten years of the 21st century as the “Bubble-Bam-Bust Decade.”  Using all the senses of these three terms covers most of the events of the decade.

Jan. 1: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
